Have Questions?
We’re here to help. Whether you have questions about our services, the home inspection process, or a property we’ve inspected for you, our team is available by phone, email, or text. We’re always happy to provide clear answers and post-inspection support.
What's included in a home inspection?
Your home inspector will inspect the major systems of the home. These include the Roofing, Exterior, Grounds, Garage / Carport, Attic & Crawlspace, Structure, Insulation & Ventilation, Electrical, Heating & Cooling, Plumbing and Interior. More details can be found in our Standards of Practice.
Can I be present during the home inspection?
As part of our home inspection process, your home inspector will provide a walk-through of the property at the end of the inspection. During the walk-through, we discuss any deficiencies found during the home inspection as well as highlight some of the building materials used during construction and how to best maintain the home. The walk-through is an important part of the home inspection and encourage all clients to participate.
How will I know if the home passed the inspection?
The home inspector will not ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ a home, instead the goal of the home inspection and report is to provide you with accurate information that will assist you in making informed decisions. It is important to read your inspection report carefully in its entirety. The report has a summary section that lists the most important considerations, but the body of the report also contains important information about all the major systems of the home.
What if I have questions after the home inspection?
That’s completely expected. After your inspection, we provide post-inspection support to help you understand the report and the condition of the home at the time of inspection. If questions come up after reviewing the report — or even as you move into or take possession of the home — you’re welcome to reach out by phone, email, or text for clarification and additional context related to the inspection. Our goal is to help you gain a clear and practical understanding of the home you’ve purchased so you can move forward with confidence.
When will I get the home inspection report?
We produce and deliver our report on the same day as the home inspection. Through a secure link sent to your email, you will be notified as soon as the home inspector completes the report and are provided access immediately to your online report. Our online report is complete with full colour photographs and available to save to PDF or print if needed.
Can I purchase a report from a previous inspection?
We don’t resell or share reports from previous inspections because they belong to the client who originally hired us. An inspection is a snapshot of the home’s condition on a specific day, and things can change over time, both visibly and behind the scenes.
To best protect your interests, we recommend scheduling a new inspection under your name. This ensures you receive an up-to-date assessment of the property, as well as direct access to your inspector for questions, explanations, and ongoing support before, during, and after your purchase.
Are your inspectors licensed and insured in British Columbia?
Yes. Examina Inspections is licensed through Consumer Protection BC, carries professional liability insurance beyond what is legislated, maintains general liability insurance, and is registered and in good standing with WorkSafeBC.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and payments are processed through our secure online client portal. You can also make payments through Interac e-transfer.
