Jared Warner – Licensed Home Inspector
Jared Warner is a Licensed Home Inspector with Examina Inspections, licensed through Consumer Protection BC (License #89386) and holding the Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) designation. He brings something rare to home inspection: he’s been on the construction side. With more than 10 years of hands-on experience as a carpenter and over 15 years as a project manager for a high-end custom home builder, Jared has been involved in homes at every stage of the build.
That background means he looks beyond surface conditions. He understands how homes are put together, how systems interact, and where issues tend to develop over time — which makes him a more effective inspector and a more useful resource for the clients he works with.
Before construction, Jared spent several years in the hospitality industry — a background that continues to shape his client-first communication style today. He takes time to explain findings clearly, so clients leave the inspection feeling informed and confident, not overwhelmed. That’s the educator side of what we do, and Jared brings it naturally.
Jared lives and works on the Sunshine Coast, spending his time off on local bike trails with his dog or exploring the area with his wife. His technical knowledge and people-first approach are a natural fit for the Examina standard.
Brent Peppiatt – Owner & Principal Inspector
Brent Peppiatt is the owner and principal inspector of Examina Inspections, licensed through Consumer Protection BC (License #85668) and holding the Certified Master Home Inspector (CMHI), Certified Professional Inspector (CPI), and Certified Mold Inspector (CMI) designations. He is also one of a small number of inspectors in BC approved by Consumer Protection BC to train and certify new home inspectors — a credential that reflects not just technical mastery, but the ability to explain why things matter and how they connect. That’s the same thing he does for every client.
What sets Brent apart is how he thinks about a property as a whole. Rather than cataloguing deficiencies in isolation, he looks at how systems relate to each other and explains those connections in plain language — whether you’re a first-time buyer trying to understand what you’re taking on, an investor weighing up the numbers, or a realtor who wants a partner they can learn from.
His path to home inspection wasn’t a straight line — and that’s what makes him effective. A career spanning construction, manufacturing, commercial boating, enterprise software, and a BCIT education completed with honours gave him a practical mindset and a genuine curiosity that shows up in every inspection. As a homeowner and real estate investor himself, he brings first-hand perspective to every property he walks through.
Brent has called the Sunshine Coast home since 2017, settling in Davis Bay with his wife and daughters. When he’s not inspecting or keeping up with continuing education, you’ll find him hiking local trails, swimming at Chapman Creek, or exploring the coast with his family.
